Screen Acting Workshop Designed for Teachers by Industry professionals

Tunbridge Wells: 26th - 27th July 2019
10am - 4pm

A short film project is incredibly accessible and engaging for the students and can be shot and edited on a mobile phone. The TV and Film industries are experiencing huge levels of growth in the UK and yet very little is taught in UK schools. Working with Professional Actor and Practitioner Adam Leese, you’ll experience some simple class examples, culminating in making your own mini movie on your mobile* (*Mobile model permitting).

You'll explore the latest techniques used on TV and Film sets in the UK. As well as the technical elements, you'll also receive useful hints and tips to ensure that you're able to give your students the latest training in Screen Acting and give them the tools to produce their own movie!

The course itinerary will be as follows:

Day One

Introduction 

Set Structure and Hierarchy

Differences between Stage and Screen 

The use of Status in Screen Acting

The Right Acting for the Right Frame

Technicals (I.e Marks)

Day Two

This day is designed for you to put what you've learnt into practice. Working with your mobiles and under Adam's guidance you'll be split into groups to create your own mini-movies!

Adam Leese

Graduating from Arts Ed in '98, Adam secured his first professional job working on Victoria Wood's BBC sitcom, 'Dinnerladies'. Since then Adam has accumulated over 60 professional credits on films such as Attack The Block and Bridget Jones' Baby and TV shows include Broadchurch, Humans, The I.T Crowd and has appeared several times on Eastenders. He's recently finished filming on The King of Thieves, directed by James Marsh and starring Michael Caine, Michael Gambon and Ray Winstone. Ten years ago Adam volunteered to be a Youth Mentor for BAFTA and it was through this that he found his love for inspiring others. Since then he's taught and directed worldwide for several Drama Schools, Colleges and Universities and is a Screen Acting Tutor for The National Youth Film Academy.
